Architectural Illusions: Case study of a Monumental Projection Mapping

Architectural Illusions: Case study of a Monumental Projection Mapping

This presentation explores the technical and artistic workflow of using Blender to create immersive projection mapping content for complex indoor heritage sites. Using a Gothic cathedral as a primary case study, we demonstrate how Blender can be used to break the "fourth wall" of architecture, creating illusions of infinite depth and structural transformation. Attendees will learn how to set up "Sweet Spot" viewing positions using Blender’s camera constraints, allowing for the creation of 3D content that appears to float in mid-air or extend beyond the cathedral’s physical masonry.

Type: Breakout demo/workshop (50 minutes)
